
Working in partnership with parent company Theory and design firm hi-res, the extended team set out to create a unique, yet shop-able experience for this minimalist and iconic brand.
Using Demandware’s eCommerce platform and Site Genesis templates as a springboard for development, the site was designed and built over 3 summer months in 2011. A simple visual approach afforded the team a bit more room to develop creative solutions: Category grids respond to the browser, sending through images sized to fit the viewable area; product detail images fill 100% of the screen; a shop-able ‘filmstrip’ allows for quick browsing through the catalog from any product page. While phase one includes some support for tablet display, deeper ‘small screen’ support is planned for late 2011 / 2012 releases.
