With over 14 years experience creating engaging and organized interactions for screens of all sizes, Greg holds an impressive career roster listing some of the most recognized names in retail, manufacturing, tech, pharma, finance, telecom and entertainment. Since 1995 Greg has focused his efforts on building better user experiences, and often tells tales of animated gifs, Flash abuse in ‘98, the portal craze, and the foosball tables of the “tech boom”. Known for his obsessive attention to detail, Greg likes to triple-check even the smallest of projects. He also has a favorite hexadecimal gray value (#545454). When he’s not working on-site with current clients and prospects, Greg likes to split his time between Media Hive’s New Jersey and New York offices.
Ken brings over 5 years of front and back end development experience to the table, with concentrations in design, interface development and dynamic web programming. He wholeheartedly believes he can make the web a better place, one line of code at a time. Valid code, standards compliance and semantic markup are all collectively his middle name.
When not working, Ken spends his time familiarizing himself with new web technologies, and honing his skills with existing ones. He enjoys skateboarding, Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits, and short walks on the beach.
With 5 years of experience developing websites, RIAs, and mobile apps using the Adobe Flash platform, Mike comes to Media Hive with a passion for design, usability and interactivity. His formal education consists of a studio art, fine art, and computer science degree. While his artistic background provides insights into the design aspects of a project, he is first and foremost, a programmer. A programmer that believes in standardization, best practices and doing things the ‘right’ way. He understands that a clean, usable interface is equally as important as an efficient back end and strives to achieve both. A problem solver for life, Mike hopes to be writing code for many years.
Chris has been working professionally for over 9 years in the fields of traditional and interactive design. His studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia gave him a broad foundation of design methodology and an appreciation of the origins of graphic design. Throughout his career, Chris has worked for creative firms in Virginia Beach, Beverly Hills, and back to his native New Jersey— working on projects ranging in scope from Government to Extreme Sports. A versatile designer who feels comfortable designing for different mediums and styles, Chris brings an intensity for great design and a desire to translate client needs into usable and visually stunning experiences. Chris is working toward an MFA in Studio Art from Montclair State University, with a focus on photography and design.
Chris comes to Media Hive with a year and a half of front end web development experience. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in MIS, he returned home with hopes of starting his own web design firm. After a couple of failed start up attempts with old high school friends and a few successful ventures on his own, Chris took a job as a project manager at a company that provides information systems for hospitals to pay the bills. He soon realized that the corporate grind wasn’t for him and came to work for Media Hive doing what he loves. He hopes to use his knowledge of usability and usefulness in web design to create efficient sites with proper flow while learning as many new things as he can along the way.
With an A.A.S. in Computer Technology and a B.A.S. in Internet & Web Development, Stephen is able to bring a wide array of working web knowledge and experience to the table at Media Hive. By “reverse-engineering” websites over the last ten years, Stephen has learned to develop rich and interactive user experiences by employing a broad range of scripting and markup languages. Always anxious to grow in his field and improve upon his knowledge of complex systems, Stephen eagerly approaches each challenge as an opportunity to learn. Prior to joining Media Hive, Stephen spent 5 years as an independent consultant— and he brings this same independent spirit and drive to the team at Media Hive.
